Mark of Excellence Award

The Baton Rouge Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America established the Mark of Excellence Award to recognize local public relations professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the profession through their level of professional excellence, achievement and/or community involvement.

The award was initiated to recognize and honor public relations communications professionals in Louisiana who have distinguished themselves throughout their career. The award is meant to be one of lifetime achievement rather that recognition for an outstanding achievement for one year or for one communication’s issue.

Criteria for nomination and selection are:

  • The nominee should live and work within the State of Louisiana.
  • The nominee should have demonstrated professionalism and integrity in his/her work in the public relations field, either through recognition by awards, academic achievements and community and/or civic involvement.
  • The nominee should have demonstrated those skills, actions or achievements that are deserving of such special recognition throughout their career.
  • The nominee does not have to be a member of PRSA, but must have served in a leadership position in a PRSA or any other professional communications organization.
  • The individual making the nomination must submit a typewritten narrative that describes the nominee. In addition, supporting materials including recommendation letters, news clippings, etc. are encouraged.
